DNS/DHCP/IPAM

Domain Name System (DNS) service is a mission-critical element of a company's web or Internet infrastructure because practically all IP applications -- such as email, VoIP, web browsing, mobile, etc -- rely on highly available and comprehensive DNS functions.  Without a robust DNS solution, unreachable servers and websites can result in lost productivity, dissatisfied customers, and lost revenue.

Similarly, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) service has become more important with the rapid adoption and use of new communication devices such as IP phones, tablets, cameras, and many more.  These new IP applications and devices demand highly available and resilient DHCP for IP address assignments.

Virtela ESC (Enterprise Services Cloud) enables the delivery of these services via our 50 Local Cloud Centers (LCC) around the world, deployed in local proximity to end users.

  • Available at all times. With our locally distributed cloud centers, we can implement high availability and backup configurations to ensure that the DNS/DHCP infrastructure can withstand not just logical and physical failures but also natural disasters in various regions of the world.
  • Fast response time. LCCs deployed close to end users deliver improved response time.  And with load balancing capabilities, Virtela makes sure that your users are directed to the closest DNS/DHCP server that has resources available.
  • Ease of management and cost savings. With Virtela's Managed DNS/DHCP services, Virtela is your single point of contact for design, implementation, monitoring, and management of your DNS/DHCP infrastructure.  Virtela's cloud implementation translates into significant cost savings for you, eliminating up front capital cost and lowering ongoing management expense.

Lastly, Virtela can also help you with IP address management (IPAM), in addition to DNS and DHCP.   Virtela can reduce the time and expense in assigning and managing IP addresses as well as resolving configuration issues caused by disconnects between DNS, DHCP, and IP address management data.
