Virtela to speak at International Telecoms Week Roundtable for Global Network Integrators

Session Discusses How Global Integrator Models Help Achieve Strategic Business Goals

DENVER, May 28, 2009 - Virtela, the global network solutions company, today announced its participation at International Telecoms Week 2009 in an executive roundtable discussion titled "The Role of the Network Integrator in the New Global Economy." Virtela's Vice President of Global Channels, John Powell, will discuss how carriers can take advantage of innovative partner models to more efficiently extend their network reach and accelerate their global strategies. The roundtable, sponsored by Global Telecom & Technology (GTT) and moderated by Current Analysis Principal Analyst Cindy Whelan, will take place on Tuesday, June 2 at 11:15 a.m. at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.

"Many traditional carriers have decided to partner with global network integrators or have adopted their own version of the integrator model in order to expand their global reach and portfolio of value added services," said John Powell, Virtela's vice president of global channels. "Current economic conditions make the build-versus-buy decision almost a no brainer, as most carriers face a significant reduction in their capex budgets. This roundtable will give carriers actionable guidance on how they can use global integrators and/or the integrator model to achieve their specific business goals."

With a non-traditional model for delivering global managed services, Virtela leverages hundreds of carrier infrastructures via the Regional Policy Centers it owns around the world to ensure optimal performance and resiliency. Virtela's new paradigm for service delivery - Network as a Service (NaaS) - enables an array of on demand services that provide customers with customizable best-in-class network solutions and eliminate upfront capital expenditures. John Powell will offer perspective on NaaS and strategic global connectivity for carriers at ITW:
