According to a recent survey conducted by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, 46 percent of IT professionals believe that
security risks associated with
cloud computing are greater than its potential benefits, iTWire reports.
Also, more than half of respondents indicated that employee-owned
mobile devices pose the greatest threat to their organizations. Of those surveyed, 41 percent said that employee devices are managed appropriately. These results closely mirror findings from a study conducted by Citrix earlier this year, according to the report.
Earlier this month, ISACA released a set of guidelines to help organizations migrate to the cloud in a safe manner. According to iTWire, 42 percent of ISACA members currently have cloud strategies in place.
While some IT officials may be concerned about cloud computing security risks, a recent EQuicknews report highlighted that the technology is safe and expected to improve in the future. Another benefit of the cloud is that companies of all sizes can utilize it, improving their cost effectiveness and work schedules, EQuicknews' Jessie Taplin asserted.
