The cybersecurity landscape continues to evolve, posing new threats that could damage companies worldwide.
Financial-Planning.com recently reported the National
Security Agency released a list of viable threats expected to be relevant in 2012. According to the NSA, the proliferation of
mobile devices such as
smartphones and
tablets will open the door for additional attacks in the future.
To deal with these potential threats, organizations are encouraged to force all communication from workers devices through the companies' network, Financial-Planning reported.
"Allow no retransmission of any content obtained from within the network, through such devices," said the news provider. "Except through monitoring software."
The NSA also suggested that the continued use of social media will lead to more personal cyber attacks, according to the Financial-Planning report.
To meet the global security demands expected to take place in the near future, budgets for such solutions will rise. According to research firm Gartner, worldwide security services spending is projected to grow from $31.1 billion in 2010 to more than $35 billion this year. By 2015, businesses will spend more than $49 billion.
