With more cloud services becoming available, IT executives experiencing fatigue

Recently, many companies have begun to employ cloud computing services. This has led to increased competition among third-parties firms offering the managed network. With these third parties offering newer services for the cloud in greater numbers, IT executives have begun to suffer from "cloud fatigue," BT announced recently, TotalTele.com reports.

Companies have trended toward cloud employment because many see it as a way to cut costs with tight departmental budgets in place. By using the cloud, companies are utilizing a hosted service that allows for an on-demand or pay-as-you-go basis rather than hosting internal infrastructure that can become expensive over time. But the numerous cloud offerings have become overwhelming.

"The majority of our [enterprise] customers are suffering from cloud fatigue - there's too much hype," said Neil Sutton, vice president of BT Global Services' global portfolio, TotalTele.com relays. However, Sutton responded that cloud computing was still seen as the biggest trend among enterprises.

As the TotalTele.com report states, research from IDC found more than half of European enterprises are using the cloud for at least one IT service. The trend is also moving forward in the U.S. - a recent report from CloudTweaks found that 20 percent of all IT companies nationwide will begin using cloud computing within four years.ADNFCR-3353-ID-19821889-ADNFCR
