A recent survey found that desktop PC virtualization is the most sought-after technology among CIOs, according to IDG.

In the latest CIO Technology Priorities Survey, 45 percent of nearly 300 IT leaders indicated they were looking into cloud computing services and network virtualization. This is a 10 percent increase since the last survey in January.

Technologies such as cloud computing and network virtualization can provide businesses with cost-effective strategies to their software and hardware needs. Businesses around the world are investing in public clouds as a means to free infrastructure spaces.

According to the survey, server virtualization and mobile and wireless solutions topped the list of technology in production at all business levels.

Cloud computing will grow to a $42 billion industry by 2012, as more companies look to utilize its cost-cutting model, according to a recent IDC study. The study suggests IT vendors will look to develop stronger cloud offerings to align their products and services to meet market demands.ADNFCR-3353-ID-19935031-ADNFCR
