With cloud computing adoption continuing to increase among IT executives who see the managed network as a cost-effective solution, companies in South Florida have begun to make the jump as well.

According to the Miami Herald, companies in the lower half of the state have begun to adopt the cloud to trim technology costs, share files from remote locations and run their mobile network.

Bob Berkowitz, the president of South Miami-based Multivision Video and Film, stated “[the cloud] just makes life easier,” the Miami Herald reports.

Companies in the area also see the cloud as an important disaster recovery solution. For an area that experiences a significant amount of hurricanes, ensuring data is safe and secure in case of such a disaster is incredibly important.

Because of this support, one managed network provider in the area told the news provider the cloud is “growing at an increasing rate.”

Recent research has supported this point, especialy for small- and medium-sized businesses. A report from Hewlett-Packard found 70 percent of SMBs experiencing data loss go out of business within one year of the loss.ADNFCR-3353-ID-19887300-ADNFCR
