Cloud Security Alliance attracting new members

Recently, the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) has received a lot of attention from the cloud industry, and well-known businesses are beginning to join the cloud security conglomerate.

The CSA is a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide a central location for resources on cloud computing security and information management. It is run by an executive board made up of security officers and experts from dozens of international companies. The coalition monitors cloud computing news, supervises cloud security conferences and offers educational programs and questionnaires on networking security. It also offers a private registry that contains voluntary information on other cloud service providers and the security programs they run - that way, a corporation can compare security to verify that the best privacy measures are in place.

Most recently, corporations that offer remote infrastructure management and automated security solutions have added their knowledge to the CSA. nCircle became the newest member of the CSA in January, and chief technology officer Tim Keanini will join CSA's Corporate Member Advisory Council.

"Meaningful security standards and metrics are crucial to multi-vendor interoperability," said Keanini. "We look forward to working with the CSA to define and educate the public about cloud security."
