With the rapid adoption of
cloud computing, more companies need skilled workers to help manage the technology.
According to a recent report by the staffing firm Wanted Analytics, recruiters posted more than 3,000 online job opportunities last month that require cloud computing skills. From July 2010 to this year, the demand for cloud expertise has increased by 68 percent.
The five regions with the greatest demand for cloud computing professionals are San Jose, California, Seattle, Washington, D.C., New York and San Francisco. Recruiters placed more than 400 ads in San Jose, which is more than any U.S. city, the company stated.
"As companies shift IT investments to cloud-based applications, demand for these skills should continue and recruiting conditions will be moderately difficult across the United States," the company said in a statement.
Global cloud computing spending is expected to increase significantly, making the demand for skilled IT workers even more crucial. According to a study conducted by Global Industry Analysts, organizations worldwide are projected to spend more than $222 billion for cloud computing services by 2015, CIO reported.
