Certain skills needed to manage cloud computing technology

Some industry experts believe the continued use of cloud computing will ultimately supplant certain IT jobs, but new research may offset this notion.

According to a recent Business Insider report, the rapid adoption of the cloud is actually in need of certain IT skills. Data mining, which combines statistics and artificial intelligence to recognize patterns within large data sets, is expected to be a skill needed to maximize cloud computing.

"Driving traffic to sites is becoming increasingly more important as the web continues to be used for profit," said Business Insider's Matt Polsky. "Advertisers want to get the most traffic to their sites while paying a minimal amount, which means companies will need people who can analyze user interactions to find weak points and produce valuable campaigns."

Polsky said other skills that will be needed to help manage cloud computing services include preparation and a general knowledge of computer science or other craft can be a valuable asset to tech companies.

A CNN Money report also revealed that the extended use of cloud computing will actually lead to an influx of trained IT professionals. One expert indicated that the IT unemployment rate is approximately 3 percent, which is far lower than the national average. This is due in part to the demand for cloud-trained professionals.
