Amazon launches bulk email tool for AWS

Amazon recently announced it is helping companies do away with the hassle of building in-house mass email solutions by introducing a beta version of its bulk email tool for its
cloud offering, Amazon Web Services.
Dubbed Amazon Simple Email Service, the tool is designed for businesses and developers to enhance their email marketing campaigns through Amazon's cloud platforms, including the Elastic Compute Cloud, or EC2.
Amazon Simple Email starts as a free tier service, and then costs 10 cents for every thousand messages sent. Amazon EC2 subscribers can send up to 2,000 messages a day for free.
"Building large-scale email solutions to send marketing and transactional messages is often a complex and costly challenge for businesses," Amazon stated. "Amazon SES eliminates these challenges and enables businesses to benefit from the years of experience and sophisticated email infrastructure Amazon.com has built to serve its own large-scale customer base."
Simple Email Services is one of several moves Amazon has made recently to enhance its
cloud computing platform. Last week, it introduced the Elastic Beanstalk, which automates many of the processes needed to deploy applications in its cloud network.
