Sales Representative

Location: Dallas, Santa Clara, and Washington
DC/ Northern Virginia
This position is responsible for the sale of the Virtela's
managed services (network, security, cloud, mobility) to mid-large
enterprises in a specified region. This position sells the
Company's products and services using technical, organizational,
and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in
applying the products/services to their needs resulting in revenue
generation.
The Sales Rep's responsibility will be to drive the
overall sales revenue in a defined territory (geography or list of
accounts), while increasing Virtela's strategic value for specific
products and solutions. This individual should have a strong
history of a proven track record of consistent sales success in
developing and maintaining large territories, success being defined
by Q/Q as well as Y/Y meeting and exceeding their sales plans. A
strong background and acumen in developing new sales opportunities
within a "green" field territory as well as maintaining longer term
account/ territory management. Additionally the enterprise rep will
have a strong history and background of working closely with
partners to develop Virtela's differentiated position.
Primary Responsibilities
- New account sales and growth to base through sales.
- Sales of emerging products and multi-product sales.
- Utilizes proper use and level of sales support.
- Manages expenses in the pursuit of incremental business.
- Negotiates business/financial issues on contracts.
- Coordinates proper company resources to ensure efficient and
stable sales.
- Accurately forecasts opportunities and revenue.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Use of SFA and CRM tools effectively to report progress
Professional Qualifications
- 8 - 10 years in outside sales selling Enterprise Solutions,
with an established rolodex within the region. Typically requires
five or more years of experience in managed IT services
sales. Successful sales track record a must.
- Expertise in RFP based solution selling a must.
- Bachelor's degree in business, sales, or marketing or
equivalent training in business or sales.
- Excellent knowledge of company's products, pricing practices,
and selling skills.
- Excellent time management, communications, decision making,
human relations, presentation and organization skills.
- Must have excellent people skills/influencing ability and
effective in sustain business relationships.
- Professional appearance and presentation required.
